Super Smash Bros. Melee
Presentation
Super Smash Brothers Melee is a game created by HAL laboratory, and what a magnificent game this is. Out of all the fighting games, of all the nintendo games, heck, out of all the games I've ever played, I've owned this game for three years and I still have yet to grow tired of it. This is in my opinion the greatest fighting game I have ever played. It is unique in every which way, and being able to pit all your favourite nintendo characters against each other makes the game all the more interesting. Mario, Link, Luigi, Zelda, Captain Falcon, Kirby, all the biggest superstars are there. This game is polished and refined to perfection. This without a doubt will be one of the most fun games you will ever play.

Gameplay
This is where the game Truly stands out. Super Smash Brothers Melee is unlike any other fighting game you will ever play. There are Unique styles of control, you can execute the best of the moves with a simple tilt of a direction and a push of a button. This game is so action packed you wouldn't be able to let go of your controls for a split second when in the fray. Unlike the typical fighting games, usually your objective to win is to beat their opponent till they run out of stamina. In this game however, there's more to it. With more damage a player takes, They are able to be knocked around further. When they reach an extent of damage, they must be sent sailing out of the arena to be defeated. It's brilliant. The complexity of the fighting engine is amazing too, with the character layout and moves, the defensive system, It's one of those games that can truly reflect the gaming skills of a player.
What else makes this game so unique is how they gave you everything to keep you on your toes and addicted to the game. You've got events where you're pitted in specific situations that you must overcome, you've got classic mode, a classic smash brothers ladder style series of fights with the boss, and you've got adventure mode. Something completely different from other than the usual fighting experience. You've got to unlock secret characters, secret stages, even collect well over 200 different trophies of Nintendo-ness. It's impossible to play this game for a matter of weeks and get bored of it.

Graphics/Sound
This is something that first blew me away when I got the gamecube. When I saw the introduction to the movie, I was very impressed with how well the game looks. The graphics in the game are just as good as the introductory trailer when you first turn on the game. This was the first game I played when I got my gamecube. When you look at the graphics up closed, you will be marvelled at how well and defined the graphics have been produced. There are amazing reflections off water, reflections off of metallic objects, water transparency, quality muscle definition of the characters, the lighting effects, the ambience, explosions, damage sparks, everything is all refined well. The icing on the cake is the incredible frame rate. It's like watching a pixar movie. Everything runs so smoothly and perfectly that merely blinking your eye might make you miss a few things. While the graphics aren't as quality or as perfected as the games out there today, it is still enough to impress the easily amused.
The only grope about this game is that it lacks supreme sound. Their music on the other hand while some tracks being terrible, also have many incredible songs to boot. There are plenty of talented voiceovers as well as bad ones. The sound effects given for the game's characters and stages. There are alot of ups and downs in the part of sound. There are however, a couple terrible music tracks from the game, prime one being the DK rap. The most god-awful song on the entire thing. While it packs a decent beat, the vocals and the lyrics itself are teribble and disgusting, it just does NOT blend in with a smash brothers game. The next one is yoshi's stage. The banjo remix is horrible, absolutely horrible. not only banjos are rhetorical in irritating instruments, but it doesn't work right for the stage it's set on. Don't let this tear you away from the game though, because there are tons of music tracks you will enjoy.
Conclusion
This masterpiece is a true gaming experience. The game is totally unique in every which way, and will not be like any typical fighting game you've played before. It's always been a gamers dream to pit their favourite video game characters in crossover battles. The replay value is unparalleled. This game will keep you entertained for maybe even years. There are very little quarrels about this game that you will find, and it is suitable for all ages. Heck it's so suitable it even made pokemon much more mature than what it is now, yet the kids will still love them. This game is an amazing test of a gamer's skills as well. This is one game you should not miss playing, even if it's just to play once.
